Today I had a ready-made green leaf salad from hemkop, with sweetcorn, falafel, ready-made chicken breast,  grated cheese and boiled egg. 

Leafy greens and raw veggies are a superb source of natural fiber, and consuming enough fiber each day has several health advantages:

  • Fiber helps to reduce LDL or “bad” cholesterol.
  • It helps to control blood sugar.
  • Adequate fiber intake helps with weight loss and healthy weight maintenance.
  • It normalizes bowel movements, and aids in the prevention of bowel disease.

Moreover, A boiled egg might be small, but it is packed with essential vitamins and minerals such as potassium, iron, zinc, vitamin E and folate. With 6.29 grams of protein and just 78 calories, a hard-boiled egg is a food that can refuel your body and help control hunger.

And yesterday I paired the same leafy green salad from hemkop with salmon.

Salmon is one of the best sources of the long-chain omega-3 fatty foods EPA and DHA. EPA and DHA have been credited with several health benefits, such as decreasing inflammation, lowering blood pressure, reducing the risk of cancer and improving the function of the cells that line your arteries

You wouldn't believe how easy this Prawn Layered Salad is to make, the sauce is even homemade! In addition, prawns are good for the heart, this is because like most seafood they are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids!
