Looking for a gluten-free breakfast, lunch or dinner? Don't worry Bill's has you covered!

Yesterday called for a celebratory meal as my boyfriend took part in the Great Manchester Half Marathon, raising £1250 for Parkinson’s UK and finishing with a time of 1 hour 36.12 mins! Manchester is a great city and we were spoilt for choice on restaurants, nevertheless, it was getting close to lunch time so with a hungry athlete to feed, 20% off student discount and only a five-minute walk from the finishing line, it was a no-brainer that we decided to go to Bill’s.

Jake after his big run!

Having already visited the Nottingham branch, this was my second time visiting the chain restaurant and again I was not left disappointed! Despite the hustle and bustle of the marathon, the staff managed to arrange an outside table for our party of five straight away without any prior booking. It was a lovely sunny and day warm, so we were more than happy to be dining alfresco.

We arrived just after 12 so I was able to choose from the ‘avoiding Gluten breakfast menu’ (which finishes at 1 pm) or the ‘avoiding Gluten breakfast menu main menu’. Having already had breakfast I decided on the ‘Pan Fried Chicken with Truffle and Wild Mushrooms’ and my boyfriend choose the Pan Fried Sea Bass from the gluten-free menu so we could share and get the best of both worlds! I will definitely be going there for brunch one day!

Our meals were nicely presented and had wooded sticks that labelled the dish as 'allergen', so you were assured that Cross-contamination had been avoided in the kitchen. The service was quite slow as the restaurant was very full. My favourite part was the herb rosti that came with the sea bass, full of flavour and also available as an additional side. I was a little let down with the truffle and wild Mushrooms sauce and could have done with a bigger portion in my opinion.  Bill’s also came out a little bit on the expensive side at £13.95 and £14.95 but nothing too drastic, it was the drinks that made our bill more expensive as the student discount only applied to food.

But overall the food was yummy, the restaurant has a lovely interior and all the staff were very friendly so I would recommend you check Bill's out!

All the best, Leia

Well done Jake! Bill's seems like quite a fancy restaurant judging by them menu options!
